BUILDING MATERIALS 2: MATERIALITY OF SPACE

For the second assignment, I teamed up with Pei Kei, Ray, MJ and Jiahui to take up the group part of the assigned work.
Our lecturer advised us to choose a commercial or residential space with a lot of different materials to study. After discussing, my group chose Heritage Lane @ Empire Damansara. Heritage Lane has a neo-gothic design with arched beams, high glass doors and stone walls to give that 18th  century streets of England feel. The materials are mainly raw to create a vintage ambience.

For the second part of the project, we were told to each choose a part of our chosen building to observe and research on how the materials effect the activity, mood and ambience of the space. As for me, I chose Tous le Jours, a French Bakery-Korean Cafe.
