DOCUMENTATION AND MEASURED DRAWINGS 2016: 44, KING STREET
interior view of 44 This short semester, our task was to document a building to as detailed as possible. Gratefully, with Dr. Nikhil Joshi's guidance, we were able to deliver perfectly throughout the 8 weeks. There were three tasks in total, an individual sketch journal, video + report documenting the building and lastly complete measured drawings + model of the building. The building we dealt with this semester was a unique building in George Town, Penang. Located at the heart of the UNESCO Heritage Site, 44, King Street is one of the two shophouses in Penang that has a cantilevered room. Owned by Cheah Kongsi, it is currently vacant which benefits us when we spent 4 days on site for our measured drawings. 44 KING STREET: Sketchbook Journal: Video: Story of a Shophouse front elevation back elevation roof plan section Link to CAD Draw
